I'm not exactly a morning person. But in this weather—the ice and snow and wind—I have one thing on my mind. The hummingbirds. (Right? Remember that obsession?) And I get up when the sun's up to make sure the feeder is not frozen or covered in ice.
Some of these little birds don't migrate and, at times like this, the weather can be dangerous for small creatures and food sources are scarce. If you have a feeder, please take care of it. It could literally save a life.
