Book jackets!

So I was the girl who skipped school one day in high school. To spend time at the bookstore instead. Ya. I was THAT girl. With a book obsession. It's no small leap to conclude that I also love book jackets. Especially designing them.

Last year I participated in National Novel Writing Month (always November) by designing covers for authors. Take a look:

So much fun. (You can see the whole collection, here.)

As part of that, I designed a cover for a story about a far away island ... with dinosaurs. Except the dinosaur part, I later learned, was supposed to be a mystery. Whoops. And I'd given it away with my cover art. So I redesigned it.

The same author has been writing away and completed another novel this summer. Here are a couple options for what we're thinking:

Fun, right? So the cusp of October means I'm gearing up for another NaNoWriMo. I'm actually grateful NOT to be writing this year. (I tried one year and only got 35,000 of the 50,000 words completed even though I succeeded in ignoring all my friends and social situations.) So designing it will be! I won't be crafting as many covers this year—not a ton of time with work. But NaNo authors can find me here and a thread will be posted soon.

And, as always, if you'd like to commission me for a design, reach out and tell me more. Thanks!

Happy writing all!
