I have my partner to thank. He researched relentlessly. Made filters and ordered glasses. Jumped at the chance to stay at the dorms at Oregon State University. And invited his parents (who are in there 80s, by the way) to join us. The Great American Eclipse was passing through Oregon. And we beelined for the zone of totality. SUCH A GOOD DECISION.
Means there's a quilt involved! Although my sister prefers traditional quilt designs, I went a little modern on her. Here's the luminary quilt by Alison Glass. Congrats, sis, on the little one arriving soon. :)
We loaded the little car with the tent and sleeping bags. Paddleboards. Coffee and food. And headed south for our summer vacation. We met up with family at a cabin, stumbled on a traveling circus, swatted at mosquito-laden redwoods and took on the wind in the estuary. It was scrappy. And perfect.
